A queer femme from the Pacific Northwest, Melina has been a part of the Seattle sexual health and LGBTQ scene for decades. Originally advocating equitable practices for trans youth in family medicine and veterans in public health research, Melina has spent recent years channeling her ambitions towards becoming an integrative sex educator, sex therapist, and perinatal mental health advocate.
Outside of the therapy room, Melina is passionate about all things art, movement, and history. She enjoys moody jazz and early mornings, sci-fi and cartography, and adventures local and afar with her partner and dog.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that we are all deserving of a life filled with our own peace, pleasure, and prosperity. I encourage a therapeutic space that invites our most human selves forward; cultivating a relationship that honors your values, features your strengths, and supports you as you pursue your greatest goals and aspirations.
Each session is a generous balance of honesty, humility, challenge, and compassion. My client-centered approach is commonly accompanied by interventions that are inherently consent-focused and trauma-informed.
Common frameworks in my work include attachment-based therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, the developmental model, and sensate focus.
Above all, I strive to arrive in every session with authenticity and curiosity, creating a therapeutic experience that centers you and your goals, your learning style, and your innate wisdom.
